I'll admit: When I first started event planning I wasn't a big "paper person." I think as a millennial growing up with a focus on and love of all things digital (and a loathing for ever having to deal with a printer) it just wasn't something that interested me. I don't even carry checks; anytime I have the misfortune of needing to write an actual check (rather than sending payment online), I go to a bank and purchase three at a time.
I also found wedding invitations particularly boring. Gold, white, cream...rinse and repeat.
I didn't realize that paper goods could be so...exciting. Yes, paper! There are SO MANY things you can do with your invitations these days. You can use color and texture to let your ideas and customizations run wild. Deckled edge, vintage stamps, vibrant liners, gold foil, silk and velvet ribbons, custom wax seals, painted edges, organic papers, shiny papers, thick papers, invitations with pressed flowers, even glass invitations! The list goes on and on. When it comes to event planning, the details MATTER, and the small details and choices that go into your invitation set the tone for your event. Even if most people who get your card in the mail don't necessarily notice the metallic edge or custom artwork, those who know, KNOW. And I assure you: Those who don't can still sense that the invitation in their hand is different. Better. More special somehow. These details and care flow into the feeling of the rest of your event – not to mention the rest of your evening's paper goods such as menus, programs, table settings, and more.
